Driver airlifted after lorry collision in Marstow

A woman has been seriously hurt in a collision between a lorry and a car in Herefordshire.

The vehicles collided shortly after 0820 BST on the A4137 in Marstow, Ross-on-Wye, close to the Welsh border.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the car driver, a woman in her 50s, had serious head and chest injuries and had to be anaesthetised at the scene.

She was airlifted to the trauma unit at Bristol Frenchay Hospital. The driver of the lorry was unhurt.
