Man critical after road collision in Herefordshire

A 18-year-old man is in a critical condition after the car he was driving was involved in a collision in Herefordshire.

Police are looking at the possibility the motorist lost control of the car on the A49 near Lyde, and collided with a tree.

The blue Peugeot 207 was being driven in the direction of Leominster on Sunday morning.

The motorist, from Moreton on Lugg, was airlifted to hospital in Birmingham.

The incident happened between 0200 and 0900 BST.

A member of the public spotted the vehicle shortly after 0900 BST and alerted police.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
