At risk Worcester College childcare 'will continue'
On-site childcare at a Worcestershire college will continue but it will no longer be subsidised and jobs will be cut, officials say.
The service at Worcester College of Technology has been reviewed and it was thought it would end.
A facility in St John's will shut along with community creches. Prices on the main campus will increase by 30%, the college said.
The decision follows a consultation with staff and parents, they added.
The number of job losses is not yet clear. About 50 people work there and about 20 are full time.
It cost the college about £100,000 a year to fund and about 60 to 70 pupils use the service, the spokesman said.
Some staff will take voluntary redundancy.
