Uckinghall flooding works completed

The official opening of water defences in a village which has suffered severe flooding is being marked.

Uckinghall in Worcestershire has been badly flooded over the years, leading to some residents living in caravans for some time.

The Environment Agency has now overseen £1.5m of work including the creation of a flood wall, a pumping station and an earthworks embankment.

A spokesman said the work will significantly reduce the flood risk.
