Redditch postman robbed while doing round

A postman was forced onto his knees and robbed by a man armed with what is thought to have been a gun in Worcestershire.

The robbery took place in Matchborough, Redditch, when the postman was carrying out his morning round.

West Mercia Police said a man who appeared to be carrying a handgun threatened him and stole his gold chain.

A spokesman said police were not sure whether it was an imitation firearm.

The robber had covered his face with a balaclava or stocking, wore dark clothing and left the area on foot.
