Boy is injured in Redditch 'drop' attack

A 16-year-old boy has been injured when he was picked up and dropped in an unprovoked attack in Worcestershire.

Police said the boy was left with a broken collarbone and have appealed for witnesses.

The assault happened in Birchfield Road, Redditch, between 2330 BST on Saturday and 0030 BST on Sunday.

The victim had left a party and was waiting for his friends when he was approached by three youths he did not know, one of whom grabbed him.

Grievous bodily harm

The youth who grabbed him did not say anything but lifted him up and dropped him, injuring him.

All three youths then left.

The male youth who grabbed the boy was described as wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the incident was being treated as inflicting grievous bodily harm.
