One dead and four hurt in Dorstone crash

A woman has died and four others were taken to hospital after a car left a Herefordshire country lane and ended up in a field.

The woman was pronounced dead at Hereford County Hospital after the ambulance service was called to Dorstone at about 0030 BST on Tuesday.

Two men and two women believed to be aged in their late teens and early 20s were taken to the same hospital.

One man suffered a head injury and one of the women had an arm injury.

The other two people sustained minor injuries.

The woman who died had suffered multiple injuries, the ambulance service said.

It added crews worked with the fire service to quickly free her from the vehicle.

A spokeswoman said: "Despite the best efforts of ambulance crews and hospital medics nothing could be done to save the woman."
