A young woman killed in a crash on a Herefordshire country lane has been named.

Katherine Jones, 18, of Nantyglasdwr Lane, Hay-on-Wye, Powys, was killed when she was a passenger in a car which crashed on Monday evening.

Police said the car was travelling between Dorstone and Hay-on-Wye when it left the road, struck a tree and came to a stop in a field.

Miss Jones had been a pupil at Hereford Sixth Form College.

She also attended Fairfield High School in Peterchurch.

Her brother, Tom, wrote a tribute on behalf of the Jones family, saying she was a beautiful, genuine person who would never be forgotten.
