Tiddesley Wood in Pershore damaged by vandals

Police patrols have been stepped up at a beauty spot in Worcestershire after a spate of vandalism at night.

Signs have been torn down, bollards ripped up and the car park surface damaged at Tiddesley Wood, Pershore.

Officers will now be checking the woodland's car park in the evenings to deter vandals.

Rob Allen, from the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, said: "We've also had people on motorbikes riding through the woodland in the evening and at night."

He said the riders posed a "serious health and safety risk" to the public.

The trust, which looks after the 81-hectare woodland, said that if the vandalism continued, it would consider closing the free car park.

They are appealing for anyone who has witnessed the vandalism to contact the police.
