Two arrested in Worcester after police car destroyed

Two people have been arrested after a police car was destroyed in a suspected arson attack in Worcester.

A man in his 20s and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of arson and questioned at Worcester Police Station.

The Vauxhall Corsa belonging to West Mercia Police was parked in a garage loaned to the police off Cranham Drive in the Warndon area.

Inquiries are being made into the cause of the fire that took place about 01:00 BST.

A police spokesperson said: "We believe the garage was set fire to first but Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue is investigating the cause.

"We are making inquires as part of an active investigation," he added.
