Cyclist Martyn King's death in Staunton devastates family

The family of a cyclist who died in a crash with a car in Herefordshire say they are devastated by his death.

Martyn King, 46, of Haylease Crescent, in Hereford, died on 14 August after a collision at Staunton on Wye.

Police said the crash happened when a Fiat Fiorino van was travelling along the A438 towards Hereford and Mr King entered the A438 from a side road.

His family have praised witnesses who administered first aid at the scene and paramedics who treated him.

Mr King was taken to Hereford County Hospital A&E department but later died.

Devoted husband

In a statement released by police Mr King's family said: "We are all devastated by Martyn's death.

"He was a loving and devoted husband and precious brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

"He absolutely loved his cycling - it was his passion. He also loved animals and wildlife."

They added: "We would like to thank friends, relatives and neighbours for their total support."
