Stourport Riding Centre gets disabled grant

A riding school in Worcestershire has been awarded £17,000 to improve its disabled facilities.

Stourport Riding Centre, in conjunction with Chadsgrove School and Specialist Sports College in Bromsgrove, will use the money to buy two carriages.

The carriages are suitable for children who use all types of wheelchairs.

It is part of a £400,000 grant to improve opportunities for disabled children and their families in Worcestershire.

Liz Morgan, assistant head at Stourport Riding Centre, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded such a substantial sum and have already put it to good use.

"With this new equipment we can now encourage children to have taster sessions which are already proving to be a real hit."
