Thieves steal underground cable in Bromsgrove

Thieves have stolen 400m of underground cable valued at £30,000 from BT exchange boxes in Bromsgrove.

Offenders cut the cables at boxes in Hewell Lane, Tardebigge, between 09:00 BST on Wednesday and 11:30 BST on Thursday.

Lead pipes, aluminium pipes and lead flashing were also stolen from St John's Middle School, in Watt Close.

The metal was valued at more than £3,000.

Rain leaked into the school after the theft, which happened overnight on Monday, causing £300 worth of damage.
