Wounds to leg
West Mercia Police said they made another arrest overnight. The man, also in his 20s, was arrested at an address in the West Midlands and is now being held on suspicion of burglary.
The police said they were not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the two incidents on Wednesday night.
Det Ch Insp Andy Hughes said: "Our investigation into the events of Wednesday night is ongoing and the scene in Whitbourne remains cordoned off while forensic officers continue their work.
"Reassurance patrols will continue in Whitbourne and Leigh Sinton over the weekend and officers will be happy to discuss any concerns that people may have.
"This is a complex investigation and we are continuing to look at a number of possible lines of inquiry. One of these is whether the individuals involved knew each other prior to the events.
"We remain keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have information about either of these incidents - which occurred between 19:30 and 20:30 BST on Wednesday.
"We are now especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a light-coloured or silver car - possibly a Honda Civic - in and around the Leigh Sinton or Whitbourne areas on Wednesday night.
The shot man is being treated at Worcestershire Royal Hospital for gunshot wounds to his leg.
He remains in a serious but stable condition.
