Worcester dustmen find stolen lead in wheelie bin

Dustmen in Worcester discovered stolen lead inside a wheelie bin as they collected rubbish.

Three people were arrested after the Worcester City Council workers found the lead in St Mary's Street at about 06:45 BST.

Two men in their 30s and one man in his 20s were arrested in Severn Terrace on suspicion of theft.

They remain in custody at Worcester Police Station while inquiries into the find continue.

Sgt Carl Jones, from West Mercia Police, said: "A wheelie bin containing lead has been recovered thanks to the quick thinking of the Worcester City Council staff who gave significant witness information."
