Four people held for metal thefts in Rubery and Redditch

Four people have been arrested after men were seen stripping lead from a shop roof in Worcestershire.

A member of the public saw two men taking the lead from the Spar at Redditch's Winyates Centre in the early hours, West Mercia Police said.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of theft in connection with the incident.

In an separate incident, a man and a youth were arrested on Thursday and later charged over the theft of six steel roll cage pallets.

The pair were stopped by police on patrol in Rubery as officers investigated noises coming from a nearby Co-op store.

The man is due before to appear before magistrates in Redditch on 20 December and the youth is set to appear at the same court on 22 December.
