A man who died after an arson attack on a flat in Worcester has been formally identified.

West Mercia Police said he was 52-year-old Andrew Heath, who lived at the flat in Chedworth Close, Warndon.

The police said they believed the fire, which broke out early on Wednesday morning, was started deliberately.

A 20-year-old man from the West Midlands, who was arrested on Wednesday, is being interviewed by detectives in relation to the fire.

Mr Heath's death is being treated as suspicious.

Det Ch Insp Paul Williamson said: "We need to know as much as possible about Mr Heath and his life."

Officers had previously been unable to confirm if the person killed in the fire was male or female because of the severity of the blaze.
