Warnings of ice on Worcestershire and Herefordshire roads

Drivers in Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being warned to be careful, particularly on untreated roads.

Worcestershire County Council said its gritters had been out overnight, covering 800 miles of routes.

The northbound carriageway of the M42 has reopened after a car earlier hit the central reservation barrier.

The B4196 in Dunley and Somerleyton Avenue in Kidderminster were both closed due to a burst water main.

Emergency services said ice was unlikely to clear as temperatures were expected to stay around freezing.
