Herefordshire Council freezes tax

Council tax in Herefordshire has been frozen under plans approved by the local authority.

At a council meeting on Friday, councillors agreed to freeze the rate for a second year running.

The Conservative-led Herefordshire Council said the decision would allow it to take advantage of a one-off government grant worth £2.16m.

It means owners of an average Band D property in the county will pay £1,205 a year in council tax 2012-2013.
