Plans for a new University Park in Worcester have been agreed, provided one of the buildings is redesigned.

The proposals for the former Grove Park siteinclude three campuses for learning, business and health.

A hotel, care home, creche and nursery would also be built and it is hoped the site would create about 2,000 jobs.

Worcester City Council said it supported the plans, which include landscaping ideas, but councillors did not like the medical centre design.

A spokeswoman said the plans were likely to get final approval once the design for the St John's House surgery had been amended and resubmitted at a future planning meeting.

A spokeswoman for Worcester University said the park was part of its long-term 15-year development plans.

Planning permission has also been granted to landscape the front of the university's city campus, including an orchard and new footpaths.
