Raven Hotel fire in Droitwich treated as 'arson'

Police are treating a fire at a former hotel in Worcestershire as arson.

West Mercia Police have launched an investigation after firefighters were called to the blaze at the Raven Hotel in Droitwich in the early hours.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) said it happened at about 02:15 BST.

HWFRS said it was thought there had been a bonfire burning out of control behind the hotel. No-one was injured in the blaze in the former staff block.

The Impney Group Limited, which ran the hotel on St Andrews Street, went into receivership in 2009.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
