Everyclick website founder Polly Gowers appointed OBE

The founder of a website that helps fund-raisers is among people in Herefordshire and Worcestershire named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Polly Gowers, from Droitwich, has been appointed OBE for services to philanthropy in the UK.

Everyclick is a search engine that helps people raise money for charity.

Alan Slater, head of the National Association of Funeral Directors, is appointed MBE for services to the funeral profession.

'Positive impact'

Other recipients include Richard Alfred Soper, from Worcestershire, who is chief executive officer at Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd.

He is appointed CBE for services to the heating and renewable technologies industries.

David Randall Stevens, for services to the community in Hereford, and Adrian Taylor, from Worcestershire, for services to the fire service and the young firefighters' association (YFA), are appointed MBE.

Chief Fire Officer Mark Yates, from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said Mr Taylor was "quite simply the heartbeat" of its YFA scheme.

Mr Yates said: "He has had a profoundly positive impact on dozens of young people as a result.

"His selfless enthusiasm and drive is exceptional and is a huge credit to the fire service, the communities he serves and ultimately himself."
