Child sex offender to be deported from Philippines

A man from Hereford convicted of indecently assaulting a child is to be deported from the Philippines.

David Williams, 50, was jailed for 15 months at Worcester Crown Court in 2004 for assaulting a young girl and taking indecent images of a child.

West Mercia Police said he was later released on licence but "absconded" to the Philippines.

It said it was working with other agencies "to ensure that Williams was returned to West Mercia Police".
