Retirement homes could be built on the former site of Malvern Water's bottling plant in Herefordshire.

The Exeter-based company Eagle One bought the Colwall site after it closed in November 2010.

Nick Cooper, from the property firm, said plans include building a nursing home as well as a number of retirement cottages and houses on the site.

He said a planning application would be submitted to Herefordshire Council in September.

Mr Cooper said: "The development will include 14 retirement cottages for the over 55s, 19 family housing including affordable housing, a nursing home with around 60 beds and the protection of the Grade II-listed former tank house."
