Hospital anorexia training for Worcester student nurses
Student nurses have started in-hospital training for the treatment of eating disorders.
The students from the University of Worcester are shadowing specialist clinicians and therapists treating bulimia and anorexia.
Based at The Huntercombe Hospital Cotswold Spa in Broadway, the work placements explore psychological and medicinal treatments.
Students are mentored by professionals at the non-NHS hospital.
Anne-Marie Willis, hospital manager, said: "The treatment of eating disorders is extremely complex so it's vital that students receive good quality training which isn't just theoretical but also practical."
Robert Dudley, from the University of Worcester, said he was "delighted" students would be able to "apply their knowledge practically".
