Redditch house fire: Lee Andrews remanded in custody

A man has appeared in court charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a house fire in Worcestershire.

Police were called to a semi-detached home in Bridley Moor Road in Batchley, Redditch at about 21:15 BST on Sunday where they found a fire in the kitchen.

Lee Andrews, 30, of the same address, was arrested that night and remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates in Redditch on Tuesday.

He is due before Worcester Crown Court in November.

Fire crews put out the blaze and no-one was inside the house at the time, police said.
