Vodafone signal down in Bromyard 'since before Christmas'

Part of Herefordshire has been without mobile phone signal since before Christmas, residents have said.

Vodafone customers in Bromyard said the signal had been missing since 20 December and they have missed important news and messages as a result.

One customer said he found out his father had died two days late because relatives had been unable to get hold of him.

Vodafone said recent performance had not been up to standard.

'Atrocious customer service'

One resident, Roy Harris, said: "Having spoken to many people who also live in Bromyard, it seems that everyone who is a Vodafone customer is experiencing the same problem.

"I have been a customer of this company for the past 20 years and have been appalled by their lack of response and atrocious customer service."

Posting a message on the mobile phone giant's website, one customer called Wayne said: "Since Monday 20 December I have had no signal or network coverage and as a result of this today I have discovered my father passed away on Friday but no family members have been able to get hold of me due to the network error I have been having."

A Vodafone spokeswoman said: "The site is carrying calls and data but we are aware that the performance is not as good as it should be over recent weeks."
