Herefordshire flood warning as River Wye levels rise
A flood warning for Herefordshire has been added to existing Worcestershire warnings as river levels rise.
The warning covers the River Wye from Hereford, with a peak in Ross-On-Wye expected later.
In Worcestershire six Environment Agency flood warnings remain, although water levels are receding.
Three pumps have been installed by Severn Trent at Hylton Road in Worcester to help clear flood waters. It said part of the road was closed.
Earlier this week, temporary barriers were put up in Bewdley, while gates at Upton-upon-Severn remain closed.
Dave Throup from the Environment Agency said the situation was improving across the catchment areas for the Rivers Severn and Wye no more heavy rain was forecast for the weekend.
"The peak is passing through, but levels remain very high and will recede very slowly," he said.
The agency said it was monitoring the situation closely.
