Mother charged after son's methadone poisoning death

A mother has been charged with manslaughter and child cruelty after the death of her two-year-old son from methadone poisoning.

Fenton Hogan was found collapsed at his home in Cotswold Close, Frankley, and died in July last year.

Kelly Emery, 32, from Birmingham, was arrested in February and charged on Tuesday.

Birmingham Magistrates' Court remanded her in custody to appear at the city's Crown Court on 24 September.
