Broadlands Primary School relocation approved by council
Plans to relocate a primary school in Hereford to the site of a nearby college at a cost of £1m have been approved by the council.
Moving Broadlands Primary School to the same site as Aylestone Business and Enterprise College will cut "unnecessary running costs", Herefordshire Council said.
The council said both schools need "significant" repair work.
Both schools also have falling pupil numbers.
Once the primary school has relocated the council said it will sell the site.
Councillor Jeremy Millar said: "Now the proposal has been supported by cabinet, the council will commence consultation with both schools' leaders and governors, parents and carers, the local community and relevant stakeholders, prior to taking the proposal forward to the implementation stage."
