Flood-hit road repairs to take days

Repairs to a damaged sewer in Worcester will not be finished before Monday, Seven Trent Water has said.

The firm said a section may have been blocked by a build up of fat or sanitary products in Upper Tything.

Work to investigate will start on Thursday near the Royal Grammar School.

The water company said it was manually controlling traffic lights from 07:00 to 19:00 GMT "to keep disruption to a minimum" and expected to be finished before Monday.

Severn Trent Water manager Don Elt said: "We understand this is a busy section of road so we want to let motorists know to allow a little extra time for their journeys."
