A van driver arrested after a school bus overturned will face no further action, police have said.

The coach was travelling to two schools in Hereford when it crashed on the B4399 in Holme Lacy in November.

None of the 53 children were seriously injured, but the driver of the bus sustained a broken back.

A 28-year-old man from Redditch in Worcestershire was questioned on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving.

A West Mercia force spokeswoman said there was "insufficient evidence to proceed with the case but enquiries are ongoing".

Most of the children were treated at the roadside by ambulance staff, while 26 were taken to hospital, some with broken bones.

The bus driver is still recovering from her injuries, the spokeswoman said.
