Extra time to question man in Evesham murder inquiry

Officers investigating the death of a woman have been given extra time to question a man on suspicion of murder.

Police were called to an address in Bewdley Street, Evesham, at 05:48 BST on Friday to reports of an injured woman.

The 53-year-old, who has not been formally identified, suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead.

The man, 51, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, West Mercia Police said.
