Successful bid to build eco-homes in Hull
Nearly 60 environmentally friendly homes are to be built in Hull, after a successful joint bid for a £3.3m government grant.
The city council said it had been awarded the money for 57 homes in east and west Hull.
The authority and a city housing association put in an application to the government's Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The homes will have loft insulation and high-efficiency boilers.
They will also have double-glazed windows and doors.
The council said the features could result in annual heating bills being cut by 75%.
