Plaques stolen from Hull churchyard

Thieves have stolen about 120 commemorative plaques from a churchyard in Hull.

The brass plaques were put up on a wall outside the church in line with the wishes of people who wanted to remember their loved ones.

They were stolen between 1700 BST on 9 September and 1200 BST on 10 September.

Humberside Police appealed for witnesses and any scrap dealers who have received metal matching the description of the plaques.

The force said three men were arrested in connection with the incident but later released, pending further inquiries.
