Posters are being distributed in bars and nightclubs in East Yorkshire as part of a rape awareness campaign by Humberside Police.

The force said it wanted to warn people that drinking too much could make them vulnerable, and to urge revellers to remain on their guard when socialising.

A spokeswoman said officers would also be on hand to offer safety advice.

Suggestions include pre-booking taxis and alternating alcoholic drinks with soft ones.
