Man arrested in Beverley arson investigation
A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged arson attack in Beverley which caused "extensive damage" to a house and two cars.
Police said a fire was started in a car during an incident on Scaife Close in the early hours of Monday. This then spread to another vehicle and a house.
A 19-year-old man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with minor burns and was later discharged.
Police said a 19-year-old man had been arrested and was in custody.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to contact Humberside Police.
Det Insp Tony Cockerill said: "We are currently investigating the circumstances which led to this fire.
"Early indications suggest that the fire may have been started using an accelerant and therefore we would like to speak to anyone who has information about anyone buying a small quantity of petrol at a petrol station in Hull or Beverley."
