Five illegal immigrants arrested at Hull restaurant
Five illegal workers have been arrested at a Hull restaurant by UK Border Agency officers.
The Bangladeshi men, aged between 31 and 41, were detained on Thursday at the Amaan restaurant in Anlaby.
Two were arrested for overstaying their visas, two for illegally entering the UK and a fifth for having no permission to work.
The restaurant was served with a civil penalty notice and faces a fine of up to £50,000.
All five men have been detained for further questioning while arrangements are made to remove them from the UK.
More than 1,500 operations targeting immigration offenders took place across the Yorkshire and Humber region in 2010, resulting in more than 1,350 people being returned to their home countries.
