Man charged over double death crash in Scunthorpe

An 18-year-old man has been charged with causing the deaths of two 16-year-olds in a car crash in Scunthorpe.

Joshua Parkin and Laura McGowan, both from Brigg, were killed when the car they were in collided with a lorry on Dawes Lane in August.

The man, who is charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on police bail.

He is due to appear at North Lincolnshire Magistrates Court on Monday 21 March.

A 16-year-old girl was treated for serious injuries and the driver of the HGV, a 30-year-old man, was treated for non life threatening injuries following the collision.
