Goole roadworks: Boothferry Road scheme starts

Residents have been warned they will have to endure "noise and disruption" during a three-week road improvement project in Goole.

Work started on Monday to resurface Boothferry Road and renew manhole covers and road markings.

East Riding Council said much of the work would be done between 0915 BST and 1515 BST "to minimise disruption to the public, shops and schools".

However, some night-time work would be necessary, the council added.

To comply with Network Rail safety requirements, a section of road between Pasture Road and Mariner's Street will be closed between midnight and 0500 BST on 21 May, 4 June and 11 June.

"During these night-time works all efforts will be made to carry out operations that could be considered 'noisy' during early evening hours," a council spokesman said.

"However, a level of noise and disruption is unavoidable due to the nature of the works."
