North East Lincolnshire rogue trader warning

Residents in North East Lincolnshire have been warned about doorstep traders operating in an area targeted by rogue traders in 2010.

Homeowners have reported that a doorstep trader has approached and advised them that work completed last summer needs to be re-done.

The new trader has known about the previous job in detail and claims that it was poorly completed.

Humberside Police and Trading Standards are both investigating the reports.

The council said householders should not offer work to someone who seems to know about work carried out previously and want to charge for it to be done again.

Councillor David Bolton, said: "They [rogue traders] have no conscience and their only aim is to charge extortionate amounts of money for sub-standard work, leaving stress and upset in their wake, as well as the need for the work to be done again properly."
