Armed police called as boy 'shot' in Hull

Armed police were called to arrest a man after a youngster was apparently shot with an air weapon in Hull.

Humberside Police said a boy was playing on an area, in Newbold Grove in the city, when he was hit in the thigh on Saturday evening.

The 11-year-old was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where a pellet was removed from his leg.

Gordon Houlden, 34, of Etton Grove, is expected to appear in court later charged with wounding with intent.
