Cleethorpes pubs given 'drugs' licence conditions

Three pubs in North East Lincolnshire have had additional conditions placed on their licences to help prevent drug crime in the area.

The Swashbuckle Tavern, Barracuda and Gypsy Tears in Cleethorpes must conduct drug searches and provide better CCTV.

North East Lincolnshire Council added the conditions after a police investigation into drug dealing.

The undercover police operation resulted in licences being temporarily suspended in May.

The pubs must also provide their staff with better training.

Councillor David Bolton said: "Licence holders have convinced the committee that they are capable of working proactively to prevent drug dealing taking place on their premises."
