Spurn Point road reopened to traffic

The private road leading to Spurn Point has reopened to public vehicles after it was damaged by high tides.

Tides measuring 7.6m (25ft) in height washed up large amounts of sand from the beach and damaged sections of the narrow road on 28 August.

The road had been shut since 1 September and drivers could only access one third of the three-mile long road.

Repairs have been carried out and the road has been relayed with new concrete blocks.

It was reopened at 06:00 BST on Thursday.
