Meat lorry driver dies in crash on A160 near Immingham

A man driving an articulated lorry containing meat has died when his vehicle went off the road in North East Lincolnshire.

The driver, named by police as Mark Connor, 53, from Manchester, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Humberside Police said the accident had taken place in the early hours on the A160 near Immingham. No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed for most of the morning, but is now open.

A police spokesperson said road conditions in the area had been quite poor at the time of the accident due to cold weather and hailstones.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
