A public consultation is to begin over plans to create a £200m wind turbine factory in Hull.

Siemens has submitted planning applications to Hull City Council to build a factory making offshore wind turbines for the North Sea.

Members of the public have until the end of January to share their objections over the project.

Project manager Dan McGrail said the factory would employ 700 people making the blades and turbine units.

It is expected that a decision on whether to approve the scheme will be made by next summer.
