A murder investigation is under way following the discovery of a man's body on farmland close to Humberside Airport.

The body was found near Great Limber by police officers carrying out searches for a missing person.

Arvydas Skrinkas, 25, a Lithuanian man living in the Scunthorpe area, was reported missing on 27 December.

His body has now been formally identified after a post-mortem examination.

Det Ch Insp Steve Hibbitt, of the major incident team, said: "We have two men aged 24 and 26 years old currently on remand having been charged with offences in connection with this ongoing investigation.

"I would like to take this opportunity to reassure the public that our initial inquiries suggest this was an isolated incident, however we are yet to fully establish the circumstances which led to the death of a man."

Officers are still at the site where the body was discovered.
