The death of 27-year-old man who was found stabbed to death outside a house in East Yorkshire is being treated as murder, Humberside Police have said.

The man, who has been named as Dale Partington, was discovered on St Lawrence Avenue, Snaith, near Goole, just after 08:00 GMT on Sunday.

Two men, one 37 and one 25, and a woman, 46, all from Snaith, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A post mortem-examination found Mr Partington was stabbed, said police.

Det Ch Insp Matt Hutchinson said: "We have a lot more inquiries to do in order to establish Dale's whereabouts and what happened to him leading to his body being discovered.

"I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact us."

Members of Mr Partington's family are being offered support from specially trained officers, Mr Hutchinson said.

The address at St Lawrence Avenue remains cordoned off and forensic inquiries are ongoing, he said.
