A police sergeant who was reported missing after he failed to turn up for work has been found safe and well, Humberside Police said.

Neale Coy, 50, who lives in the Goole area of East Yorkshire, did not report for his night shift on Friday, prompting police to issue an appeal.

However, he was found in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, on Saturday.

His colleagues said the disappearance was "totally out of character" for the officer.
