Demolition work has started on a sports stadium grandstand that was extensively damaged by fire.

Many of the facilities at Quibell Park, Scunthorpe, were left unusable after the fire last November.

Now the structure is being removed in preparation for a £500,000 replacement with changing rooms and toilets.

The athletics track is being replaced and security fencing erected, all the work is expected to be finished by next March.

Quibell Park is the council's main outdoor sports facility with an athletics track, velodrome, grass football pitches, and floodlit synthetic turf pitch.
